Syngas
Syngas, or synthesis gas is a gas mixture consisting primarily of Hydrogen, carbon monoxide, and often some carbon dioxide. Syngas is typical generated through Bioenergy thermal decomposition reactions such as that taking places through the Gasification. The term ‘syngas’ comes from the use of these gases as intermediates when producing synthetic natural gas (SNG), ammonia or methanol. Alternatively syngas can be used directly as a fuel within a variety of Combustion technologies. However syngas has less than half the energy density of natural gas.
